The Village Board of Trustees continues to consider the acquisition of 116 Eleventh Street and the easterly 100 feet of 114 Sixth Street and the addition and improvements to Village Parking Field 5 and 10 at the expense of the owners of the benefited commercial properties.

A special meeting of the board of trustees has been scheduled for Tuesday evening, March 27, at 8 p.m. at the Garden City Public Library, 60 Seventh Street, for the purpose of conducting a Public Hearing pursuant to Section 22-2200 of the Village Law.

With the arrival of spring, we all have the task of cleaning up our community to make it look like a "Garden City." Our village employees are busy sweeping up the sand, dirt and other debris which accumulated on the streets over the winter. Other crews are readying the parks, playgrounds and green belt areas for the summer season.

Spring in Garden City brings great beauty to our community. It also marks a time of year when several unwelcome conditions annually appear. Through the awareness and cooperation of our residents, these deleterious situations can be prevented. Please cooperate with your village by helping to keep our village a "Garden."
