Bethany LeSueur, a senior at Garden City High School, broke the Girls' Basketball Scoring Record for Long Island in front of a packed gym at Garden City High School on Friday night.

The night began with everyone knowing that LeSueur needed only 15 points to break the record that Nicole Kaczmarski, of Sachem, set two years ago. It ended with everyone celebrating as LeSueur surpassed that record in the first half. By the end of the game, which was played against Floral Park, LeSueur left the Long Island Girls' scoring record at 2,597. Both teams celebrated this amazing accomplishment.
