Beatrice C. Gardner, a long time reference librarian at the Mineola Memorial Library, died on Dec. 8, 2000 at her home in Garden City after a brief illness. She was 82 years old. Mrs. Gardner had an extensive knowledge of books. She had patience and ability to help patrons of the library in their individual problems. In addition she had a weekly program for senior citizens featuring a movie and refreshments.

Beatrice Gardner received her degree (masters) at Queens College and for a while taught school in NYC. She was a member of the Garden City Community Chest and other organizations.

A religious and memorial service for her was held at the Fairchild Funeral Home. She is survived by her husband Howard; sons Howard Jr. and Robert of Garden City; a granddaughter Jennifer; a sister Florence Prusmack; and a brother Eugene.

Anne R. Fager, of Stewart Manor, died on Dec. 8, 2000. Wife of the late Fred. Mother of Roy and Paul Fager. Grandmother of five. Great-grandmother of two. Arrangements were made by the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home. Funeral service. Interment Cypress Hills Cemetery.
