Strife Continues in Adelphi Strike
A candlelight vigil held last Tuesday outside the Brompton Road home of Adelphi University President Robert Scott was one of the most recent signs that strikers from Local 153 are still not pleased by the offers being made by the university, in a conflict that has been going on since Sept. 8. The union claims that the university has flatly rejected their proposals while the university claims there has been a lack of response to negotiations on the part of the union.

CA America's Cup Sponsorship Has Local Tie
When Long Island-based Computer Associates, the third largest computer company in the world, announced last week that they would be sponsoring Team Dennis Connor's bid to bring the America's Cup back to New York from New Zealand, few were prouder than Garden City native Bill Trenkle, who has been sailing with Team Dennis Connor since 1980.

On Saturday Dec. 16, the recreation department will sponsor the annual Holiday Party for all Village Youngsters. This party will be held in the Cultural and Performing Arts Center at Cluett Hall.
