Although none of the villages "hot topics" came up at last Thursday's Garden City Board of Trustees meeting, one issue that was discussed by village counsel and the mayor was the state and county's revenue sharing with villages, a topic that is very current in Nassau because of the county executive's original budget which sought to eliminate this procedure for not only the villages but for towns and cities as well. The Friends of Garden City Boys Varsity Lacrosse is holding its second Annual Christmas Poinsettia Sale. The fund raiser will again help the team with its spring trip to California. Last year the team trip to Colorado was a big success not only with its 4-0 record but, also, representing the Garden City community well wherever they went. FULL STORY

The recreation department will again conduct a Men's Basketball Program on Saturday mornings at the middle school boys' gym. This program will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday morning beginning on Dec. 2 and continuing until Saturday March 31. FULL STORY
