Republicans Take Back Town Hall
The difference a year can make was apparent on Tuesday night at Republican Headquarters as people anxiously awaited election results. In a hotly contested battle for control of the Town of Hempstead, Republicans won five out of the six newly created councilmanic district seats. Among those winning was Garden City resident Joseph Kearney who will represent the 2nd Councilmanic District.

Pirates Walk the Plank
The Garden City boy's football team played the Mepham Pirates on Saturday, Nov. 11 in a Conference II semi-final match up. The final score was 21-0 in favor of Garden City. The beginning of the game was marred by numerous penalties, poor punting and sloppy play by both teams.

Recreation Department News
The Recreation Department is conducting a supervised trip to see the Disney on Ice show "Disney's Jungle Adventures" at Nassau Coliseum on Saturday, Nov. 18. This trip will be to the 11 a.m. show. Tickets are priced at $25, and are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Supervision by the recreation department staff and bus transportation to and from the show are also included.
