Regrettable, all too often our young people are criticized for the negative behavior of a relative few. Reinforcing the fact that our young people do care about their Village, this Halloween was virtually free of vandalism, and the day was equally enjoyed by all.
Village offices will be closed Friday, Nov. 10, in observance of Veterans Day. For your convenience, correspondence for the Village may be placed on the "Letter" drop slot at the front door.
Residents scheduled for recycling on Election Day are asked to put their recyclables out on Tuesday, Nov. 14.
Residents scheduled for recycling on Veterans Day are asked to put their recyclables out on Thursday, Nov. 16.
Please be aware that leaves, grass clippings, similar garden refuse, dirt and stones shall be placed in approved rubbish containers, except that leaves may be placed on the street during periods prescribed in the month of November for leaf collection by the Village leaf removal equipment.
The Department of Public Works has begun collecting leaves in the western section on a street-by-street basis and is proceeding easterly throughout the entire village. Weather conditions permitting, this route will be repeated on a two-week basis.
