The Garden City Trojans defeated the Port Washington Vikings 41-21. The boys' football team played an excellent game, led by the running of quarterback Dave Kang and the dominating offensive line.

Port Washington scored first when quarterback Spencer Bodner threw a fifteen-yard scoring pass with two Garden City defenders hanging all over him. Garden City came back to tie the score on a ten yard run by Dave Kang. Sean Qualer set up the touchdown on a long run. Following an interception of a Port Washington pass by Mike Miller the Trojans scored again when quarterback Kang, changing the play at the line of scrimmage, threw a thirty-two yard touchdown pass to Chris Giumela with 2:45 left in the first half. The Trojans, after recovering an onside kick, scored again on a fifteen yard Kang run. At the end of the first half it was Trojans 20 Vikings 7.

In the second half Brendan Flanagan made an outstanding interception for Garden City making it first and goal on the seven yard line but the Trojans were not able to score. Garden City did score in the third quarter on a twenty yard pass from Kang to Tom Garvey, making the score 27-7.

The Trojans' two other touchdowns came on a 13- yard run by Dan Oppedisano and a twenty-six yard run by Dan Flannery.

Kang finished the game up with a total of 109 yards on 12 carries and two touchdowns. He also completed four of six passes for 84 yards and two scores. The Garden City offensive line dominated the Vikings' defense. Steve Smith played an outstanding defensive game for the Trojans.
