I empathize with Mr. Sapuppo whose letter appeared in the Sept. 6th issue of the Garden City Life. We too are being victimized by an addition to the house next door.

To oppose the project was an exercise in futility. Two variances were granted to satisfy their desires.

We are now faced with living next door to the Glen Road "Bed and Breakfast," bedrooms to accommodate relatives and friends from Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and New Jersey, to name a few.

We choose to visit with family and friends at our vacation home out of state on over an acre of property, or to entertain at the Garden City Hotel which is most accommodating to our guests. Meanwhile, I guess, I will have to get used to living next door to a "Bed and Breakfast."

This building frenzy is the present wave. It is called "keeping up with others" or "who can build the biggest structure on the smallest plot of land." Newsday wrote a very timely piece on the above.

If there are any more of you out there facing the same problem, let us hear from you.
