The Garden City Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA), is hosting its "Spring Festival" on Friday, May 5. The day's activities will begin at 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Seventh Street and will include musical groups from the middle and high schools, The Banjo Rascals, clowns, jugglers, stilt-walkers, magicians, radar pitching and a guest appearance from Goggles, Elmo, Blues Clues, Buzz and Woody and Pikachu. There will also be an "Electrifying Concert" at 7 p.m.

Plan to bring your family out to enjoy a full-filled event.

Special thanks to Dr. Gerald Corva and representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, Police, Special Police and Department of Public Works for making the Easter Parade the success that it was in spite of the weather.

The Town of Hempstead Sanitation Department will conduct the first of its monthly STOP (Stop Throwing Out Pollutants) program on next Sunday, May 7. The program, which is being held at various locations throughout the Town of Hempstead, will make hazardous waste facilities accessible to as many residents as possible.

The May 7 program will be held on Newbridge Road Park Garage, 2600 Newbridge Road. The hours of operation will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
