Seat Remains Empty on Village Board
Although the Estates Property Owners' Association Vacancy Committee submitted the name of one applicant to fill the seat left vacant by former trustee Laurence Kettner, Mayor Harold Hecken stated at last Thursday's Village Board meeting that he would prefer to make an appointment after the vacancy committee has given him more than one name.

Brian Quinn Scores in Nationwide Insurance Run for ASPIRE
Earlier this month runner, wheelchair athletes and race walkers from all over the New York Metropolitan area flocked to the local area to participate in the 23rd annual running of the prestigious Nationwide Insurance 10 Kilometer Run for ASPIRE, which is the first major race of the year in Nassau County.

Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team Pick Up Two More Wins
Last week, the Trojans of Garden City High School continued their excellence on the boysí lacrosse field as they convincingly claimed their sixth game of the season, stretching their record to an unbeaten 6-0. The Trojansí two most recent victims were a very athletic Hewlett Bulldogs team and a Mepham Pirates team coached by Garden City High School alumnus Steve Finnell.
