With the Spring Sports season fast approaching, the recreation department would like to remind all residents that preference is given to the various organized Village Youth Organizations (GCAA, Centennials, Rams, etc.) for their intramural and travel league programs. When the fields are not in use by these youth organizations, the recreation department, or a group holding a valid field permit, these fields are available for use by village residents.
Additionally, for reasons of safety, please do not move or relocate any soccer goals on any fields. To ensure a safe facility, goals must be fastened to the ground. Moving goals without properly securing them can lead to a dangerous condition for the youngsters who are using the fields.
Playability of fields at recreation facilities will be determined by the recreation department employees on duty at the fields.
While many of the youth sports organizations hold their practices and games at Recreation Department facilities, the Recreation Department does not organize the teams, nor do they schedule the practices for these groups. With that in mind, parents having questions about their children's teams should contact these organizations at the following numbers:
