A reminder that the Planning Commission will be conducting its next regular meeting on March 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. The commission's consultant, George Jacquemart of Buckhurst, Fish and Jacquemart, Inc., will present his findings and obtain input from those present.

Copies of Buckhurst, Fish and Jacquemart's findings have been sent to all the Property Owner's Associations and the Chamber of Commerce and are on file in the Reference Section of the Public Library.

The Town of Hempstead Sanitation Department will conduct the first of its monthly S.T.O.P. (Stop Throwing Out Pollutants) program on Saturday, March 11. The program, which is being held at various locations throughout the Town of Hempstead, will make hazardous waste facilities accessible to as many residents as possible.

The March 11 program will be held at Eisenhower Park, Merrick Avenue, East Meadow. The hours of operation will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Under the S.T.O.P. program, residents are able to take polluting materials to the facility and have them disposed of by a registered professional disposal company, free of charge. The facility will not accept the following materials: Ammunition, explosives, radiocactives, infections waste, gas cylinders, and barbecue tanks.
