Henderson W. Morrison, 84, of Sun City, FL and Garden City, died on Oct. 17, 1999. He was born in the Bronx on July 4, 1915, he graduated from Fordham University Law School and worked as a lawyer in Mineola. He served in the Army Counter Intelligence Corps during WWII and was an aide to Gen. George Patton. He was awarded the Bronze Star.
After the war Mr. Morrison moved to Garden City and became a partner in the law firm of Edwards, Froehlich & McDonough in Mineola. He opened his own practice, Morrison & Dougherty in Garden City. He was appointed to the District Court in 1964 and the Nassau County Court in 1973. He served as administrative judge from 1976 until he was appointed to the State Supreme Court in 1981.
Mr. Morrison is survived by his wife, Grace M. (nee Kearns); his children, William of Atlanta, GA, Mary Elizabeth Santini of Ft. Myers, FL, Kathleen McShane of Smithtown, Patricia DeJoseph of Garden City and Grace Morrison-Doyle of Garden City; 17 grandchildren; his brother, Robert of Akron, OH; and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by the Fairchild Chapel, Garden City. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's RC Church. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
