Former Mayor Tauches Honored for Years of Service
Former Mayor Frank Tauches was first elected a director of the Western Property Owners' Association in 1986, serving as chairman of Programs and Publicity. He continued on the Board and in 1987 was appointed to the Library Board of Trustees and became chairman of the Budget Committee. He was first elected a Village trustee in 1990.

Tornadoes Win Championship Tournament
On Saturday morning, Oct. 9, the Garden City Tornadoes roughed out the rain and the early hour (7:30 a.m.) to win with a shut out of 3-0 against the Windsor Wave, Krystie Piscopo, Mary Clare Oakes and Katie Gardener were the tenacious scorers. Nicole Perrotta, Kara Kelly and Carrie Long were the determined goal keepers. Amanda Russo displayed drive and determination along with superb passing skills to help secure the first victory and continued to throughout the entire tournament.
