On Nov. 11 we will be celebrating Veterans day. It is a day set aside to honor those men and women who served their country in its time of need. In this century, they were the heroic people who served the United States during World War I and II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Gulf War. Truly these veterans can hold their heads high for their honorable service to their country.
As a resident of Garden City and a member of the American Legion Post 334 of Floral Park, I would like to take this time to tell everyone that in order to honor these veterans, the Floral Park American Legion will hold a parade and ceremony in Floral Park on Nov. 11. All veterans are invited to participate in the parade. All their friends and relations are invited to witness the parade and attend the memorial services and ceremony at Memorial Park located at the intersection of Plainfield Avenue and Tulip Avenue.
For those veterans who wish to march in the parade: marchers will fall in outside of Beir's Restaurant, 25 Atlantic Avenue, south of the L.I.R.R. Station at 10:15 a.m. The marchers will march down Tulip Avenue to Memorial Park about a quarter of a mile.
Come on veterans, let's turn out for our day.

Past Commander
