  • NEWS: Mayor Hecken to Cut the Ribbon on Franklin Ave. on Oct. 15

    In the Village's new pavilion, located on the corner of Stewart and Franklin Avenues next to Gross Jeweler's, Mayor Hal Hecken will officially cut the ribbon to celebrate the Franklin Avenue Beautification Project's completion on Friday, Oct. 15. The Village trustees will be on hand to join the mayor in the ceremony and the Chamber of Commerce has worked to turn this ribbon cutting into a major Village event from noon to 2 p.m. with entertainment and lunch. The celebration has been scheduled for the day before the 21st Annual Homecoming and Chamber of Commerce Street Fair to help kick-off an entire weekend of celebrating the Village's rich history and its future.     John Maloney and Dan Doherty were recently honored at the inaugural dinner sponsored by the New York City Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame, Inc. The team consists of the top 50 returning players in the metropolitan area as selected by local coaches, media representatives and the board of directors of the foundation. The foundation is dedicated to advancing amateur football at all levels for the benefit of society as a whole, through their Local and National Scholar Athlete Programs. FULL STORY
