Veronica M. Brethel (nee O'Connor), of Garden City formerly of East Meadow, died on July 4, 1999. She was a NC School Crossing Guard for 16 years (at the Barnum Woods School in East Meadow for 10 years) and member of the East Meadow Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. Wife of David B. Mother of David B. Brethel Jr, Elizabeth Domino, Daniel J. Brethel, Loretta M. Feret and William T. Brethel. Grandmother of 10. Sister of Eileen Grillo. Arrangements were made by the Charles J. O'Shea Funeral Home, East Meadow. Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart RC Church. Contributions can be made, in Veronica Brethel's name, to St. Ann's Cancer Care Center, Mercy Hospital, 1000 N.
