He worked as a steamfitter with Local 638 for 42 years retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Stewart Manor Auxiliary Police serving part of the time as chief. He also served the Boy Scouts as a leader, committee member and in other capacities. Husband of Lynn. Father of Bonnie O'Connell, Dean Stout, and the late Gerard Stout. Grandfather of seven.
