Walter H. Altman, of Garden City South, died on April 2, 1999. He was retired from Bordens. Husband of Muriel. Father of Maureen Nero, Jack Gannon and the late Kevin Gannon. Brother of Robert Altman and Dorothy Holzhauer. Grandfather of eight. Arrangements were made by the R. Stutzmann & Son Funeral Home, New Hyde Park. Funeral Mass at St. Thomas RC Chruch. Interment Calverton National Cemetery.
Robert L. Koop died on April 18, 1999. He resided in Garden City with his wife, Lucille, for 45 years. He had two married sons, Robert and Kevin, and is the proud grandfather of Jonathan and Christopher.
Mr. Koop was a graduate of Poly Prep School and Columbia University and Columbia Law School where he received a BA and LLB degree. He served in the Army in Europe during WWII and retired from the Army Reserve as a major in 1962.
As president of Haven Chevrolet, Inc., Mr. Koop conducted business for 35 years in Ozone Park. He was a member of the board of directors of CFS Bank for 31 years. He was first vice president of the board of directors of Trump Pavilion and vice chairman of the board of trustees of Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. He was trustee of St. Mary's - St. Paul's School and a past member of the board of the Chapter of the Episcopal Diocese of LI and a past commander of the Society of American Wars.
Mr. Koop was a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, the Cherry Valley Club and the Atlantic Beach Club.
