George E. (Gene) Dobbs, 69, formerly of Garden City, died on March 10, 1999. Husband of the late Maureen Bernadette Bollong. He is survived by his wife Rita Rivera Dobbs; his children Laura Dobbs, Glenn and Dwayne; his sister Joan Reed; brothers John and Jeffrey Morgenegg; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by Fairchild and Sons Funeral Home, Garden City. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Guide Dog Foundation, 371 E. Jericho Tpke., Smithtown, NY 11787. Kenneth D. Mitchem, of Garden City, died on March 11, 1999. Husband of Charlotte. Father of Sharon Mitchem Wilson and Pamela Mitchem Klein.
