With the holiday season approaching, residents in the Village of Garden City are very fortunate to have a vital business community comprised of merchants who are committed to serve us from their shops along New Hyde Park Road, Franklin Avenue, and Seventh Street. I urge each of you to continue to patronize these local businesses for the holiday season and throughout the year.
You will be pleased with their selection and quality, as well as their attention to customer service.
The Recreation Department's Winter Program gets into full swing the week of Nov. 30. Many new programs, as well as old favorites, will be offered for residents of all ages. Details of these programs can be found in the Recreation Department's Winter Brochure, which will be mailed to residents in the near future. For more details, please contact the Recreation Department at 742-5800, ext. 275.
Village offices will be closed today, Thursday, Nov. 26, in observance of Thanksgiving. For your convenience, correspondance for the Village may be placed in the letter drop slot at the front door.
Residents are reminded that there will be no garbage or recycling pickup on Thanksgiving Day. Those scheduled for recycling are asked to put their recyclables out on Thursday, Dec. 3.
As the temperature dips, it is difficult to focus on lawn sprinkling, however, I would like to remind residents that the last day for lawn sprinkling is Nov. 30. The Board of Trustees join me in expressing appreciation for the cooperation exhibited by residents in water conservation this past year.
