The mystery relating to the final demographics report has been solved.

For weeks I have been trying to obtain a copy of the final demographics report. During the past week, when I wrote a letter to the district clerk stating that I would commence an Article 78 Proceeding to obtain it, I was belatedly informed that no final demographic report has been received from Western BOCES.

The "final results" referred to by the Committee relates to an undated fax received by the superintendent of schools on Nov. 4 referring to "updated projections that will appear in the report."

As the Committee admitted at the School Board meeting on Nov. 16, statistics without an accompanying analysis are of little or no value.

Apparently, what the Committee has done is to make final decisions based upon incomplete information.

I trust that the final report will be received and distributed before it is too late to study and comment on it.
