Both squads played teams from New Hyde Park, Huntington Boys Club, Oceanside and Plainview-Old Bethpage. Garden City players had a tremendous day scoring goals, playing defense and making some great saves in their own goals. After the three eight-minute games, all of the athletes were awarded medals, water bottles and patches that the New Hyde Park Club had made up especially for the tournament.
A party was held with hot dogs, popcorn, candy, juice and soda being served to the players, followed by team pictures, which will be given out at the awards dinner on Dec. 1. The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club wishes to congratulate both squads for winning two out of three games played and good luck in their future matches.
