  • NEWS: GCPD Apprehends Bomb Threat Pranksters

    On Oct. 23 Garden City High School Principal John A. Okulski was placed in the unfortunate and difficult position of having to address parents' concerns about recent bomb threats to the high school. As of Oct. 23, when Principal Okulski sent out a letter to all of the parents of high school students, there had been six telephoned bomb threats, and reportedly since then there was at least one more threat called into the school.     The Garden City Public School District has been posting information pertinent to the schools on a web site and recently the technology students at the high school, under the direction of Dr. Rita Melikian, director of the district's technology program, created a new web page off of the main page for the district to discuss the bond referendum.   • SPORTS: Trojans Girls Varsity Soccer in the Zone

    The Girls Varsity Soccer Team had their biggest win of the season last Saturday, as they defeated top seeded Massapequa. Sophomore Bethany LeSueur scored on a cross from senior Alex Fiore for the game's only goal. LeSueur was relieved from her goal keeping duties, as junior Katie Houston made her return after a hip injury sidelined her for almost a month. Houston was sharp, making seven saves. FULL STORY
