I read with interest the letter to the editor captioned, "Thanks to the 911 Emergency Team," which ran in Garden City Life in the Sept. 10 issue, and was very pleased to know that the service, in this instance, was prompt and courteous.

Has there been a change in policy with respect to which hospital can be requested? In my family's experience, we were advised that the only hospital to which the Nassau County Ambulance would go was Winthrop. All of our doctors are at North Shore.
