The final concert in the Garden City Chamber of Commerce's Wednesdays on Franklin project was provided by The Tom Wagner Orchestra on Wednesday, Sept. 2. Thanks to the Chamber of Commerce for a summer full of wonderful lunchtime concerts which were certainly exciting for residents and local businesses alike. The Village is accepting applications for the Veterans Real Property Tax Exemption for the 1999 tax year. Filing for this exemption must be made between Sept. 1,1998 and Dec. 31,1998. No application will be accepted after the close of business on Dec. 31,1998. This exemption is available to all honorably discharged veterans who served in active duty during time of war as defined by law. Applications are available at the Village Business Office. If you are already receiving this exemption, there is no need to reapply. With the arrival of Labor Day and the anticipation of school reopening, comes the third harbinger of autumn --the close of the Garden City Swimming Pool. Much to the credit of the pool staff, Village residents expereicned and another safe and enjoyable pool season. My compliments to all!
