North Shore University Hospital's New Leadership Division is hosting its Ninth Annual Celebrity Golf Classic on Aug. 17 at the Deepdale and Fresh Meadow Country Clubs. All proceeds go to support the hospital's Child Life Program. Now in its 12th year, this program addresses the emotional and educational needs of thousands of hospitalized youngsters and their families each year. Children in the Hematology/Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, Intensive Care, and Pediatrics units are served.

Basketball Hall of Famer, Earl "The Pearl" Monroe, will be this year's celebrity host and master of ceremonies. He will be joined by former Mets player Keith Hernandez, Law and Order star Jerry Orbach, Knicks player John Starks, radio personality Ann Ligouri, and other celebrities.
