Jacob Keppler DDS, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Garden City, died on July 14, 1998. Born in Brooklyn in 1905, he graduated from the University of Illinois School of Dentistry. He practiced in Woodhaven retiring in 1969. Dr. Keppler was a member of the Garden City Community Church, a life member of the Port Washington Yacht Club and a former Master of Prosperity Lodge in Richmond Hill. He was predeceased by his wife Helen Burns and his son John Lowell. He is survived by his son Robert B. Keppler, DDS; his grandchildren, Elizabeth McCloy and Kimberlee Overlander; and five great-grandchildren. Donations can be made to Hospice of Broward County, 309 SE 18th St., Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33316. Kathleen Clement, formerly of Garden City, died on July 21,1998. Wife of the late Michael A. Mother of Pamela Prota. Grandmother of three. Great-grandmother of four. Arrangements were made by the Fairchild Chapel, Garden City. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery. Catherine Tartakow, of Garden City formerly of Syosset, died on July 26, 1998. Wife of the late Dr. I. Jackson Tartakow. Sister-in-law of Lucille T. Friedman. Friend of Joseph DiPasquale. Sister of the late Harriet Tabak. Sister-in-law of Wallace Tabak. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by the Beney Funeral Home, Syosset.
