June Mortensen (nee McQuade) of Garden City, died on June 11, 1998. Wife of Martin R. Mother of Bradley, Scott, John Tracy Murray and Kate. Grandmother of 12. Sister of Robert J. McQuade. Arrangements were made by the Fairchild Chapel, Garden City. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's RC Church. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery.

Dr. Janith Stewart Kice, 86, of Garden City, died on June 19, 1998. Born in Baldwin, she graduated from Adelphi University and the University of Vermont Medical School. Her residency was at Nassau County Medical Center. She operated a private dermatology practice in Garden City for 50 years.

Dr. Kice traveled to Haiti with her church offering free medical care and to the Vatican to warn of the dangers of herpes transmission through communion chalices. She was president of the Friends of Adelphi University Library, was at the head of the LI Division of the American Cancer Society and was a trustee of Adelphi and the Waldorf School of Garden City.

Wife of the late Dr. Raymond Francis Smith. Mother of Pamela Silver, Deborah Schmidt and Stewart Smith. Grandmother of three. Arrangements were made by the Fairchild Chapel, Garden City. Religious service. Interment Greenfield Cemetery.
