Alternative Careers in Sports Symposium
Reid Sclafani, business education teacher, and interested students attended a workshop in Hauppauge which was devoted to exploring options for careers in sports. There were speakers and demonstrations of "off-field" options, including some in the areas of fitness and sports: medicine, communications, entrepreneurships, officials, team/league management, and recreational facility management.

GCMS Special Athletes Participate
Athletes and 7th grade volunteers from Garden City Middle School participated in the New York State Empire Games for the Physically Challenged. The athletes were John Kern, Ryan Minihane, Jonathan Hom, Carolyn Preziosi, and Bryan Barnes, who all practiced for months with their volunteer buddies. These volunteers were Lindsay Schroy, Kelly Denihan, Jackie Fiore, Kristian Blum, Jessica Riccio, Katie Keogh, Michelle Russell, and Cynthia Satterlee.
