Registration for the Summer Sports Camps has been under way since mid-May. At the present time, the following camps still have some limited openings available: Baseball Camp, Basketball Camp, Girls' Lacrosse Camp, Boys' Lacrosse Camo, Soccer Camp, Pre-School Arts and Crafts, Pre-School Stay and Play, and Recreation Activities Camp. The Tennis Camp, unfortunately, is completely filled for the summer.

The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club is accepting applications for the Fall Girls' Intramural Season. The eligible grades are Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. This year there is a registration deadline of August 15. The early deadline has been established to allow the season to begin earlier. Registration forms can be picked up at The Cultural and Performing Arts Center at Cluett Hall, The Recreation Office in Village Hall, The Garden City Pool, and the Garden City Soccer Shop. Completed forms can be dropped off at the Garden City Soccer Shop, or may be mailed to the address on the form. The four Har-Tru Tennis Courts at Community Park have been reopened for the Summer outdoor tennis season. These courts operate according to the following schedule: Tuesday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Mondays, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Reservations may be made up to 48 hours in advance by calling the Community Park Office at 483-2525.

The following rates, per person, per hour, are in effect for the summer season:

Weekdays:

8 a.m. to noon... singles = $2.50; doubles = $2.00

noon to 4 p.m. ... singles = $1.50; doubles = $1.50

4 p.m. to 7 p.m. ... singles = $2.50; doubles = $2.00

Weekends All Day:

singles = $3.50; doubles = $2.00

Guest Fees:

Add $1 per person, per hour.

The Miniature Golf Course at Community Park has been renovated and is now open for your enjoyment. The course is located adjacent to the tennis courts, and is available for play seven days a week according to the following schedule: Monday, noon to 11 p.m.; Tuesday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Green Fees for the course are $1.50 for residents and $2 for non-resident guests.

The Miniature Golf Course is available for children's birthday parties. For reservations or information, please call the Community Park Office at 483-2525. Please note that birthday party reservations will only be taken Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Recreation Department is pleased to announce that their popular Adult Tennis Lessons, under the direction of Dick Scott and Jay Gallagher, will once again be offered at the Community Park Courts. These lessons will be held beginning the week of June 15, according to the schedule below. Registration for these lessons has begun in the Recreation Office in Village Hall.

Mondays:

*Women's Coached While Playing... 5:30-7 p.m.; $100 per person

*Men's Coached While Playing... 7-8:30 p.m.; $100 per person

Tuesdays:

*Senior Citizens Lessons... 8:30-9:30 a.m.; $75 per person

*Women's Coached While Playing... 6-7:30 p.m.; $100 per person

*Adult Couples Coached Lessons... 7:30-9 p.m.; $100 per person

Wednesdays:

*Adult Beginner/Advanced Beginner... 6-7 p.m.; $75 per person

*Adult Couples Coached Lessons... 7-8:30 p.m.; $100 per person

*Women's Drill and Coached... 8:30-10 p.m.; $100 per person

Thursdays:

*Mens' Coached While Playing... 6-7:30 p.m.; $100 per person

*Co-Ed Coached While Playing... 7:30-9 p.m.; $100 per person

*Co-Ed Intermediate Lessons... 9-10 p.m.; $75 per person

Fridays:

*Co-Ed Advanced Beginner/Intermediate... 8:30-9:30 a.m.; $75 per person

*Women's Learn and Play... 9:30-11 a.m.; $100 per person

These classes will run for eight weeks and registration will be taken on a first come, first serve basis in the Revreation Office in Village Hall.

Roster packages for women's and men's softball leagues are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, June 12. The league will be formatted to begin play during the week of June 22. For more information, call 742-5800.

Membership Applications for the 1998 Season at the Garden City Pool have been mailed to all Village residents. The Pool will open for its 42nd season at noon on Saturday, June 13. Anyone who has not yet received their application package may call the Recreation Office at 742-5800 for a duplicate application, which will be mailed to your home, or can be picked up in person at the Recreation Office.

Completed pool cards will not be mailed back to you, but will be sent directly to the pool photo and lamination center, where they may be picked up by an adult member of the family.

Please pay particular attention to the "head of household" statement on your pool application.
