Of the four options for scheduling the length of the day at each of the schools within the district, Option III received the most vocal support from attendees at work sessions, was recommended by Superintendent Dr. Wilson, and seemed to have the most support collectively from School Board Trustees.

Proposed 1998-99 Budget Approved by Board of Ed
The Board of Education, including the newly appointed Dr. Nancy Fredericks, who will fill the vacancy of Board Trustee, effective as of April 28 until the next general election, voted unanimously to adopt the Proposed 1998-99 School Budget totaling $48,379,927 at their last regular meeting (April 28).

GCHS Produces Scores of Scholar Athletes
At the April 28 Regular Meeting of the Board of Education, New York State Public High School Athletic Association, Inc. (NYSPHSSA), the state organization which governs interscholastic athletic competition in New York State, presented Scholar Athlete Awards to those Garden City High School Athletic Teams whose total grade point average was a 90 or higher.
