On Sunday, April 26, the Central Business Alliance (CBA) will be hosting Spring Festival 1998. Again, the businesses on Seventh Street and Franklin Avenue have generously agreed to donate proceeds of the Festival to the Garden City Special Education PTA (SEPTA). SEPTA is a PTA in Garden City that represents and advocates for children who are gifted and those with special needs. SEPTA brings together parents, teachers, administrators, learning specialists and others with an interest in the special education of children. This event is a wonderful example of residents and the business community working together for a very special cause¬the children of Garden City.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite all residents to come and enjoy the festival and in doing so, support this cause. The funds received in the past have been applied to enhance programs that directly affect children. Last year's proceeds have been awarded in the form of grants to the building principals, amounting to over $5,000. If you wish to support this cause, you may still mail in your contribution to: 186 Seventh Street, Garden City 11530. I personally hope for two things on April 26¬no rain, and to see as many residents as possible supporting this event. Thank you.
