(Ed.'s Note: The following was originally sent to the mayor and is reprinted at the author's request.)
I am writing to let you know of our Water Conservation Audit, an important program and service for Nassau County residents who have automatic, underground sprinkler systems. This is provided free of charge. Staff of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County conduct the Audit and it is available to all interested Nassau homeowners, businesses, and institutions.
The Audit involves a thorough analysis of the sprinkler system and the efficiency of its water delivery, plus recommendations on landscape plant materials.
Please invite all those who live in your village and have an in-ground sprinkler system to participate in this opportunity. Residents can conserve water, reduce their water bills, and foster a healthy lawn and landscape at the same time. Appointments are scheduled from April 1 through Oct. 31 of each year.
Anyone who wishes to participate can call us at 454-0900, ext. 255 and ask for the Water Conservation Packet.
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County has been providing unbiased, research-backed information to Nassau residents for over 80 years. Our information relates to horticulture, water conservation, environmental issues, integrated pest management, food and nutrition, home repair, parent education and 4-H youth development programs.
Thank you for letting your constitutents know about this special opportunity.
