  • NEWS: Streetscape Improvement Discussed at Board Meeting

    The Feb. 12 preliminary presentation of the Franklin Avenue Streetscape Improvement Program was followed by another presentation at the Feb. 19 Board of Trustees meeting where trustees and residents were afforded an opportunity to view a slide presentation of the blue prints which appeared in the Feb. 12 issue of Garden City Life and sketches of the proposed landscaping.

  • NEWS: Future of Garden City Traffic Becomes Pressing Issue

    One of the greatest concerns expressed by residents in the Village of Garden City reflects a Long Island-wide issue: traffic. With plans for the beautification of Franklin Avenue designed to slow traffic and put an end to the "speedway" feel so many have long complained about, concerns have been raised that the speeding cars will then opt to race on other residential streets through the Village.

  • SPORTS: Garden City High School Fencing Team Wins Tournament

    Garden City hadn't won a Nassau County Fencing Tournament in 15 years until this year. The team triumphantly broke their 15-year record and has brought happiness to fencing fans in the Village once again. Many who have followed the team's successful season credit Coach Dennis Daly, the 1998 Nassau County Coach of the Year, with the team's success as well as the students' dedication to the sport.
