The WPOA doesn't care what citizens within its boundaries think. They have an agenda formulated by a small group which must be satisfied. The people chosen are "yes men."
For the WPOA to renominate School Board Trustee Jim Ryan without a comment, after the fiascos relating to St. Paul's as a high school and the school bond issue, is a clear indication of the public-be-damned, in-your-face attitude approach.
The nomination of Mr. Jenkins for trustee, without indicating which other citizens were interviewed and why he was selected is, in my opinion, a slap in the face of every person who resides in the WPOA area.
Mr. Jenkins, in my opinion, does not measure up to the caliber of the present trustees and will be treated accordingly. It should be noted that the WPOA was the only POA which had no input at the Jan. 8,1998 work session of the school board. Of course, you have to know what is going on to have an input.
If Mr. Jenkins is the best that we can do, we are doomed to mediocrity.
If Mr. Ryan and Mr. Jenkins have any worthwhile opinions, let us hear them.

P.S. At this point, the EPOA is the best functioning POA. However, its renomination of Mrs. Morano, who is the weakest president of the school board we have had in a long time, shows how badly the "system" is working.
