  • Omni Gallery, 333 Earl Ovington Blvd., Uniondale (across from Nassau Coliseum). Children: In Reality and Fantasy, photography by Richard Lopez Jr (presents children in a stark reality. His subjects are awkwardly trapped in their pictorial space, often seeming as much like social evidence as actual people. Sometimes an element of distrust pervades the work reminding the viewer of the brutal and predatory threats that all children face. While never commenting directly on the social issues that affect the well-being of the children, Mr. Lopez explores issues of partriachy and power in these strangely sad photographs) and Sandra N. Carrion (photographs her students allowing their individual personalities to ignite symbolism that pushes these photographs toward pure fantasy. She creates a new set of young gods. Her photographic fantasies are a celebration of youth where vulnerability and power are equal forces in the forging of new myths). On view through Jan. 30.

The Black Adder

From cowards to cads and back again, the Blackadders (all played by Rowan Atkinson) have managed to seriously lower the tone of every era through which they have wended their serpentine way. His career starts with the murder of his own charming Uncle Richard the Third, and heads downward from there. WLIW21's current back-to-back run of the four Black Adder series will include the US premiere of the lost episode, Nob and Nobility from the Black Adder the Third series. 10:30 p.m. Fridays on WLIW21.
