Although the Saturday Matinee may have disappeared, the Recreation Department Holiday Movie is back. On Monday, Dec. 29 at 1 p.m. in Cluett Hall the Walt Disney animated feature Hercules will be shown. This film is rated G, and running time is 90 minutes.

During the Christmas Recess the Recreation Department will be sponsoring a Holiday Gymnasium Program in the St. Paul's Field House. This program will be held on the following dates: Friday, Dec. 26; Saturday, Dec. 27; Monday, Dec. 29; Tuesday, Dec. 30 and Friday, Jan. 2, 1998.
The schedule for the Holiday Gymnasium Program will be as follows:
K-1 - co-ed - 9 to 10:30 a.m.
2-3 - co-ed - 10:30 a.m. to 12 Noon
4-6 - co-ed - 12 Noon to 2 p.m.
7-12 - co-ed - 2 to 5 p.m.

During the Christmas vacation week the St. Paul's Field House will be open for Open Basketball from 7 to 10 p.m. on the following evenings - Monday, Dec. 29 and Tuesday, Dec. 30.
The Field House will also be available for Open Play on Wednesday, Dec. 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 31 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Additionally the Recreation Department is reducing the Open Court Time Rates for Christmas Week. Open Court Time Rates will be as follows: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. - $16 per hour; 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. - $24 per hour.
Please note that the Instructional Tennis program will not be held from Wednesday, Dec. 24 through Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998; the Instructional Programs resume on Friday, Jan. 2, 1998.

It's a whole new era, a whole new attitude over at the Islander's camp, and the Recreation Department is going to put you right in the middle of it. We are pleased to announce that we have available a limited number of discount tickets to see the Islanders take on the Carolina Hurricanes at the Nassau Coliseum on Saturday, Jan. 10 at 1:00 p.m.
Tickets are discounted from the normal Box Office price of $34 to just $21 for this game. Tickets are on sale now in the Recreation Office in the Village Hall, and must be paid for in cash only.

The Recreation Department is conducting a supervised trip to Walt Disney's World On Ice featuring Aladdin at the Nassau Coliseum on Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998 for the 11 a.m. performance.
Tickets are priced at $22.50 for this show and are offered on a first come, first serve basis. Supervision by the Recreation Department Staff and bus transportation to and from the show are included. To participate in this trip children six years of age and younger must be accompanied by an adult on the bus.
The Recreation Department also has a limited number of discount tickets to the Thursday, Jan. 22 performance at 7 p.m. Regularly priced $22.50 tickets are discounted to $19.50 for this show. There is no bus transportation to this show.
Because these tickets are obtained from the Nassau Coliseum Box Office on a consignment basis, the Recreation Department will accept cash only for these tickets. Last day of sale for these tickets will be Monday, Jan. 12, 1998.

On Sunday afternoons beginning Jan. 4, from Noon to 4 p.m. the St. Paul's Field House will be designated as Open Gym Time for children and their families. This open time provides the opportunity for you to enjoy various gym activities with your children, in open and unstructured activities. Basketball, Volleyball, Dodge Ball, along with popular table games will be available for your use, and Recreation Staff members will be on hand to help move the activities along.
This time is designated for our residents to participate and use the Field House on a family and individual basis. Organized group practices and workouts are given scheduled time at other times during the week, and we respectfully ask that you abide by the operational guidelines for this Open Time.
Additionally there was a typographical error in the Winter Leisure Times Brochure that was mailed to all Village residents this week. The Leisure Times stated that Family Gym Time is to begin on Jan. 3, the correct date is Sunday, Jan. 4, 1998.
On Sunday, Jan. 11 the Recreation Department will present Family Fun Day at the St. Paul's Field House. This program is designed for parents and children (ages 6 to 10) to enjoy an afternoon of gym activities together. There will be relay races, circle games, cage ball, and other activities. To help cool everyone off, cold drinks will be available during the program at a nominal charge. There is no charge for this program, but advance registration is required. To register for Family Fun Day, please call the Recreation Office during business hours no later than Friday, Jan. 9.
