At its March 10 general membership meeting, the Nassau County Village Officials Association (NCVOA) addressed the timely topic of public safety and law enforcement. The NCVOA represents 64 incorporated villages with more than 430,000 residents.
Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice was the guest speaker. During her presentation, District Attorney Rice identified DWI enforcement as her primary concern. She outlined the initiatives she implemented during the past three years to reduce incidents of DWI by increasing the prosecution of drunk drivers.
Following the question and answer session, District Attorney Rice discussed some of the other areas of concern for public safety with Angel Soto, mayor of the Village of South Floral Park and NCVOA 2nd vice president, and Marvin Natiss, mayor of the Village of North Hills and NCVOA 2nd vice president.
