Isn't it about time we, as a village, give a lot more respect and praise to the Floral Park Department of Public Works?

If one considers that despite rain, snow and freezing temperatures, not only are our streets plowed and sanded, but our garbage and re-cycling are also picked up and very often all in the same day! They are sloshing along, picking up and dumping, behind trucks and not riding around in heated cars. And after they have done that, they are out there clearing corners so that walkers can get to wherever they are going and commuters can get to the railroad.

Does anyone ever say "Thank you?" I doubt it!

In the blazing heat of summer, they are picking up and dumping our garbage, walking behind smelly trucks and not riding around in air-conditioned cars. And when they are done with that, they are tending to flower beds and grass cutting, maintaining the beauty of our village.

Does anyone ever say "Thank you?" I doubt it.

So if no one else has said it, I'll say it. Thank you!
