Bill Corbett to Tell of Meeting Presidents

Floral Park attorney Bill Corbett will discuss "The Presidents I Have Met" Friday, March 20, at the Floral Park American Legion Post at 8:30 p.m. Bill will focus on U.S. Presidents he has personally been honored to meet, beginning with President Dwight David Eisenhower. Bill will show a photo he took when Eisenhower visited Floral Park in 1952. He met Eisenhower in later years at his Gettysburg, Pennsylvania office.

President Dwight David Eisenhower signs a book he authored about his World War II experiences as Bill Corbett looks on. The meeting took place at Eisenhower's Gettysburg office in Pennsylvania in 1964.

Along with personal stories and photos involving a number of presidents and vice presidents, Bill will show some of the rare campaign buttons in his collection.

The public is invited to attend the program at the American Legion Hall located on Elizabeth Street in Floral Park. Refreshments will follow the program.

Corbett, an Air Force veteran, is a past commander of the Floral Park American Legion and was an advisor to the United States Information Agency and US Small Business Administration. For more information, call 775-6849.
