Floral Park-Bellerose School District Board of Education Trustee John O'Donoghue has informed Board of Education President David Fowler that he will not be running for re-election for another term. O'Donoghue's current term expires this June 30. He has served with distinction on the Floral Park-Bellerose Board of Education since 1996.
Speaking of his long-time colleague, President Fowler noted, "John will be missed. Like Archie Cheng before him and Bob Burke currently, John, while insisting on a top quality education for all children, also brought to our discussions the views of a small business owner and the need to be cost-conscious even while providing high quality. I'll especially miss his wit, even when it was directed at me!"
On May 20, the Floral Park-Bellerose School District budget and the election of one full-term trustee will be submitted for voter approval.
Candidates for membership on the Floral Park-Bellerose School District Board of Education must be nominated by petition. All signatures on nominating petitions must represent those of qualified district voters. Each signer's address must be indicated on the petition.

Petitions may be obtained at the district office at One Poppy Place and must be filed with District Clerk Deborah Sawicki, One Poppy Place, no later than April 21, at 5 p.m. For further information, visit the district office or call 327-9300.
