  • News: Legislation Could Curb Helicopter Traffic Over Residential Areas

    Floral Park Trustee and TVASNAC Liaison Mary-Grace Tomecki, along with Trustee Tom Tweedy, attended a press conference hosted by Senator Charles Schumer in Smithtown. Representatives from the Town of Southampton, Huntington, Greenlawn and Mattituck were on hand as the senator announced his intention to submit legislation regulating helicopter traffic over residential properties.   • News: Suozzi Announces Arbitration Award

    Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi announced that the county's new arbitration award with the Police Benevolent Association will save taxpayers approximately $90 million during the next six years. The savings result from wage increases below the rate of inflation, limits on termination pay, the relaxation of minimum staffing requirements and the elimination of wasteful duplicate health insurance benefits, Suozzi said.
