It has been a privilege to represent my neighbors on the Floral Park Village Board for the past six years. As my term draws to an end, I want to thank you for placing your trust and confidence in me and giving me the opportunity to serve the residents of Floral Park.
My time on the village board was truly rewarding because I was fortunate to work with individuals who were committed to serving their neighbors. Mayors Ann Corbett and Phil Guarnieri, Village Justice Doug Hayden and Trustees Kevin Greene, Tom Tweedy and Jim Rhatigan each bring a unique perspective to the board, yet share a common purpose - to keep Floral Park a "Great Place to Live."
I know first-hand the time, effort and sacrifice each of them has made to preserve the quality of life we enjoy in this village. I urge all residents to continue to show your support to them as they continue their work on our behalf.
I am also grateful that the Citizens' Party has nominated Mary-Grace Tomecki, an exceptionally qualified candidate, to succeed me on the village board. Mary-Grace Tomecki's educational background and work experience will provide a unique perspective for the village board.
I especially know Mary-Grace Tomecki shares our Hillcrest neighbors' concerns on such issues as: preserving and enhancing Centennial Gardens as a passive recreational area, increasing police visibility, regulating residential subdivisions and the over-intensive development of property. Additionally, Mary-Grace has taken the lead in the village's continuing effort to address air traffic concerns.
