The Floral Park Fire Department will host a fire safety day and Halloween costume contest Sunday, Oct. 22, from noon to 3 p.m. at Fire Headquarters, located on Vernon Street and Floral Boulevard.

All kids 12 and under are invited to attend in costume and there will be prizes for the best costumes. The department will also have pictures in the pumpkin patch, a coloring table for the kids and JJ's Dancers to entertain. Kids 12 and under can bring a pumpkin to decorate; the best pumpkin gets a prize. The fire department will present various safety displays and live demonstrations. Please join the fire department for a fun-filled, educational afternoon.
