Senator Frank Padavan was at the official unveiling of the Mets room at the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island Friday, Aug. 18. Twenty years ago, in 1986, the New York Mets won the World Series and the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island opened its doors for the first time.

Padavan, a dedicated supporter of the Ronald McDonald House, noted, "I am so happy to see local organizations pitching in and helping keep the Ronald McDonald House a comfortable and safe place for families in need. The players from the 1986 Champion Mets have done a wonderful thing here today and I'm proud to be here to celebrate this occasion."
