Henry George Edwards died July 11, 2006 at Haven Hospice in Gainesville, FL. He was 89. Mr. Edwards was born in Harlem, resided in Floral Park for over 50 years and moved to Gainesville two years ago. He was a retired installer for 47 years with the NY Telephone Company. He was a decorated WWII veteran who served in the US Army in the South Pacific Campaign. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Elmont. He spent the remainder of his years as an avid reader and loved doing crossword puzzles. He was preceded in death by his wife Rose Edwards. He is survived by his children, Christine Holyoak, Kenneth Edwards and Donald Edwards; and eight grandchildren. Funeral Mass celebrated on July 17 at St. Vincent de Paul RC Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Milam Funeral Home, Gainesville and the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home, Floral Park.
