The Floral Park Historical Society is having a fundraising campaign for its new museum, which is expected to open in 2007. Local artist Mary Gosden (left) has donated a 12x15 inch hand-painted tray decorated with flowers based upon the turn-of-the-century seed catalogs of John Lewis Childs. The tray will be raffled off in December. Former mayor, Ann Corbett, Society vice president, holds a special 9.5x18 inch print of flowers, which was sold years ago by the Childs Company, copies of which are now available from the Historical Society. Looking on are Village Historian Walter Gosden and Society President Peter Fleig. For more information on purchasing raffle tickets or the flower print, call Society Treasurer Bernice Hayes at 354-3212 or President Fleig at 437-5084.
