New York State Senator Frank Padavan announced that he has been designated as the Independence Party candidate for the 11th Senate District seat in New York. At their meeting July 8, New York State Independence Party Chairman Frank MacKay and committee members elected Padavan as their candidate for the Queens Senate seat.

"I work hard to bring the people of Queens good representation in Albany. I'm elated to have received the designation from the Independence Party, it shows me that I've lived up to the party's expectation and that they support me to run for this seat once again," Padavan commented.

Padavan, during his many years of service, is often noted as one of the most independent-minded, involved and caring legislators from the borough. He has helped to bring countless jobs and dollars to Queens communities and is dedicated to preserving and enhancing Queens residents' way of life.

"Being a state senator allows me to help improve Queens residents' lives - and that is one of the most satisfying feelings in the world. Good representation, good government, is the backbone of our country and I'm proud to be a part of that," Padavan concluded.
